The Renault Kangoo Crew is a small crew van that appeals to those needing a versatile van for both business and everyday life. It offers superb flexibility with space for five passengers and up to 3m3 of boot space.
Rivals to the Kangoo Crew include the Vauxhall Combo Diesel Crew and Fiat Doblo Crew.
Our Renault Kangoo Crew review covers:
The Kangoo Crew is in its third generation and most recently received a model update for 2024. A key part of this update was styling, with a new front grille design showcasing the brand's new visual identity. It looks quite futuristic, which I like, and I'd go far as saying it's one of the best-looking crew vans on the market.
The cabin of the Kangoo Crew is a nice place to be, and one reason for this is because of the space you get. The driver and front passenger get plenty of leg and headroom, and there's also plenty of storage, such as a large overhead storage rack and a compartment on the dash. In the rear, there's room for three passengers, and the seats are supportive and comfortable.
The Kangoo Crew can carry up to 3m3 of load and has a maximum payload of 894kg, which is not too bad considering the standard Kangoo has 4.3m3 of load volume. The rear has loads of practical features, such as a retractable interior rack and 10 anchor points.
The Kangoo Crew has a car-like cabin. The dashboard is driver-oriented and features some really nice features, such as a black trim, fabric upholstery, and LED interior lighting. It's also built to last, so don't worry - it will handle the rough and tumble of business life.
On the dash, you get an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system that uses Renault's EasyLink system and features a DAB radio, smartphone mirroring, and Bluetooth. Behind the steering wheel is a 4.2-inch digital driver display that shows all the necessary information in crisp, clean graphics.
Two trim levels are available: Advance and Extra.
Advance has 16-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights and rain-sensitive front wipers, manual air conditioning, halogen headlights, and 20 driver assistance systems.
Extra has a premium faux leather steering wheel, keyless start, LED headlights, body-coloured side mouldings, a 360-degree parking sensor, and blind spot intervention.
Three engines are available for the Kangoo Crew: one petrol and two diesels. The entry-level petrol is the TCe 100, which returns 100hp and goes from 0 to 62mph in just under 15 seconds.
The diesels are what you want if you need more fuel economy. Available with either 95hp or 115hp, they boost fuel economy to around the 50mpg mark.
An electric version of the Kangoo Crew is available but in the form of the Kangoo E-Tech Crew.
The Kangoo is one of a few small vans renowned for its car-like handling. Even with the added weight from the Crew version, it still drives well.
Its nimble size and good handling make it a breeze to drive in the city, and its light handling makes parking easier than expected.
On the open road, it remains a composed and relaxed drive. The three engines can deal with motorway cruising without a care in the world, and especially with the diesel engines, you can churn through the miles for fun.
