The Renault Kangoo E-Tech Crew is an electric city crew van perfect for urban businesses looking to balance sustainability with practicality. With an extra row of seats, it can accommodate five passengers while still maintaining decent load space and payloud.
Rivals to the Kangoo E-Tech Crew include the Nissan Townstar Electric Crew, Fiat e-Doblo Crew, and Peugeot e-Partner Crew.
Our Renault Kangoo E-Tech Crew review covers:
The Kangoo E-Tech Crew was part of the Kangoo range's model update for 2024. Its front end looks slick and sophisticated, with a large black front bumper and slim LED headlights. At the rear, it looks the same as the standard Kangoo; however, at the side, a window has been added for the rear passengers.
The Kangoo E-Tech Crew's cabin is lovely. There's plenty of space in the front for the driver and front passenger, thanks to ample head and legroom. For those on the rear bench, space remains good. However, I'd expect your shoulders to be rubbing, especially with three passengers sitting there.
Open the rear doors, and you'll get a load volume of 3m3, which is a 1.3m3 decrease from the standard Kangoo E-Tech. You'll also get a maximum payload of 642kg, a massive drop from the standard 975kg.
Renault is part of the Stellantis group, which has been producing pretty good vans in recent years. One of their standout features is their cabins, and the Kangoo E-Tech Crew is no different. It comes with a nice dashboard with black trim, fabric upholstery, and LED interior lighting.
It comes standard with an eight-inch infotainment system on top of the dashboard. It essentially looks like a large tablet, but it works well and features a DAB radio, smartphone mirroring, and Bluetooth. You'll also get a four-inch digital driver's display behind the steering wheel.
The Kangoo E-Tech Crew Van is available in the standard Advance trim only. It has 16-inch wheels, a single passenger seat, Renault's EasyLink infotainment technology, automatic headlights, automatic air conditioning, cloth upholstery, regenerative braking, and cruise control.
The Kangoo E-Tech Crew is available with a 44kWh battery that's paired with a 120hp electric motor. It reaches 62mph just over 11 seconds and returns up to 186 miles of range, which, although it doesn't sound great, is about on par with where electric crew vans are up to.
Using a 7.4kW home charger, it takes just over four hours to charge from 20% to 80%. The fastest it can charge up to is 80kW, which takes 40 minutes to do the same.
The Kangoo E-Tech Crew is a van that won't let you down on the road. The motor provides instant torque, meaning that you can accelerate off the mark quickly, perfect for around-town driving.
It's also agile and nippy, allowing you to navigate urban roads with ease. On the motorway, it remains a comfortable drive, and although it's not as sporty as some of its rivals, it's more than happy to cruise along in the first lane.
