The Toyota ProAce Crew is a versatile mid-sized van with a crew cab configuration. With space for up to six people and a load volume of up to 4m3, the ProAce Crew is perfect for ferrying your team and cargo from A to B.
Rivals to the Proace Crew include the Nissan Primastar Crew, Peugeot Expert Crew, Citroen Dispatch Crew, and Volkswagen Transporter Kombi.
Our Toyota ProAce Crew review covers:
The ProAce Crew will look the part for your business. At the front, there's a good-looking front end with a V-shaped grille and a large bumper, while the rear is square in shape, which looks good. The only difference between the ProAce Crew and the standard ProAce is an extra set of windows behind the cabin.
In the front of the ProAce Crew, there's a decent amount of room for the driver and two front passengers. Leg and headroom are okay, but the only downside is that you might be rubbing shoulders if sitting on the bench. In the rear, there's enough space for three passengers to get comfortable.
The ProAce Crew is available in two body lengths: Medium and Long. The latter adds 350mm to the exterior length and 41mm to the height. Both have a payload of up to 1,290kg, while Medium can carry a load volume of 3.2m3 and Long up to 4m3.
The cargo space can be accessed via twin sliding doors on the side and double doors on the rear, which can open to 180 degrees for ultimate access.
The cabin of the ProAce Crew is well-constructed and built to last. It features some high-quality materials, such as soft-touch plastics, but is also very easy to clean thanks to a black plastic trim. It's what you'd expect from a medium-sized van: robust and easy to navigate.
On the dash is a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system with a DAB radio, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, navigation, wi-fi, and voice recognition. It's a quick and responsive system that is straightforward to use while driving. We really like the addition of wi-fi connectivity, which effectively turns the ProAce Crew into a rolling office for your business.
Two trim levels are available: Icon and Design.
Icon has 16-inch steel wheels, manual air conditioning, dark grey fabric seats, height-adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12V front and rear power outlet, rear parking sensors, cruise control, and hill-start assist control.
Design has 17-inch machined-face alloy wheels, front fog lights, body-coloured bumpers, front parking sensors, adaptive headlights, smart entry and push-button start, and Toyota Safety Sense with pre-collision system and adaptive cruise control.
Under the bonnet, the ProAce Crew has a 2.0-litre diesel engine that's available with 140hp or 180hp and front-wheel drive. The 140hp version comes with a six-speed manual transmission, while the 180hp has an eight-speed automatic. Both return a fuel economy in the late 30s.
The ProAce Crew is a good van to drive. It's refined, has plenty of ride comfort, and is excellent to drive, thanks to tidy handling.
Around town, the ProAce Crew shines with its nimble handling and compact dimensions. The steering is responsive, which makes parking a breeze, and the suspension deals with potholes and bumps in the road very well.
On the motorway, the ProAce Crew maintains its performance. It'll get up to cruising speed with no issues, and once you're there, it's smooth and comfortable to drive.
