The Vauxhall Combo Diesel Crew is a small van that's both practical and versatile. With enough space for five passengers, the Combo Diesel Crew is perfect for businesses needing to transport their crew from A to B.
Rivals to the Combo Diesel Crew include the Nissan Primastar Crew, Fiat Doblo Crew, Renault Kangoo Crew, and Citroen Berlingo Crew.
Our Vauxhall Combo Diesel Crew review covers:
The Combo Diesel Crew is now in its fifth generation and looks fantastic. The front end is the perfect balance between a sporty and aggressive aesthetic, and the body has some nice features, including creased down the side panels.
Climb inside the crew van, and there's loads of room. The driver and front passenger have plenty of room to get comfortable, while the rear bench has enough room for three adults. Unlike some crew vans, space for the rear passengers is very generous, with loads of head and legroom.
Open the rear doors and the Combo Diesel Crew has 3.5m3 of load volume, but you can fold the rear seats to get 4.0m3 of space. It also has a maximum load height of 1,243mm and a maximum width of 1,527mm. For those who plan on carrying large amounts of cargo, you can carry up to 900kg.
The cabin of the Combo Diesel Crew looks and feels the part. The dashboard is very driver-centric and is relatively easy to use when driving, and there's a good range of materials, such as soft-touch plastics. We'd say it's one of the best interiors on the market.
You get an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system that sits on top of the dash. It comes with a DAB radio, Bluetooth, sat-nav, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. It's a decent system that displays sharp and responsive graphics, and the screen is also angled towards the driver which is a nice touch.
The Combo Diesel Crew is available in one trim, Prime. It has 16-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, an eight-inch multimedia colour display, a nearside sliding side-access door, a three-seat second-row, a six-way adjustable driver's seat, a foldable four-way adjustable passenger's seat, cruise control, hill start assist, and anti-lock braking.
The Combo Diesel Crew is available with a 1.5-litre diesel engine that's labelled the Turbo D BlueInjection. It has 100PS and tops out at a speed of 102mph.
Although it doesn't look great on paper, it's a more than capable engine and will serve you well both around town and on the motorway. The only downside is that the more powerful 130PS unit available on the standard Combo Diesel isn't available on the Crew van.
The Combo Diesel Crew is a comfortable van to drive. It's capable both at low and high speeds and also deals well with having a full cargo space.
Around town, it's nimble to drive and deals with bumps in the road well. The responsive steering makes navigating tight urban roads a breeze, and the smooth diesel engine acts very well in stop-start traffic.
Get on the motorway, and the Combo Diesel Crew continues to impress. It's comfortable and stable at cruising speed, regardless of whether you've got full cargo or not. The suspension system deals with bumps in the road excellently, and we probably prefer to drive it than the Citroen Berlingo Crew.
Prices for the new Vauxhall Combo Diesel Crew start from £28,908.00 OTR* or to lease from £395.54 per month.
