First introduced back in 2013, the Peugeot 2008 has recently received a stylish update in 2020, making it an excellent lease choice for those looking for a small SUV with bold looks and low running costs.

Design, Practicality and Boot Space
Recently refreshed, the new Peugeot 2008 boasts an eye-catching, stylish exterior design with its horizontal bonnet, large chrome grille, and distinctive signature three claw LED headlights.
Inside, the latest generation 2008 offers plenty of room up front with space enough for two tall adults and adjustable seats and steering wheel to help keep you comfy on long drives. There's also plenty of storage cubbies inside, including door pockets, space under the front centre armrest, a couple of cupholders, and a clever storage area in the centre console for personal belongings.
At the rear, the 2008 has split rear seats, which fold in a 60/40 configuration. Boot space is also impressive at 434 litres of boot space, expanding to 1,467 litres with the rear seats down. This is bigger than its rival, the Nissan Juke, at 422 litres or 1,305 litres with the seats down.
Interior and Trims
The Peugeot 2008's interior cabin looks fantastic, and the build quality is up there with its rivals, even competing with the Audi Q2 for interior quality. Plush-feeling materials make the dashboard surfaces pleasant to touch, although the cheap-feeling plastic on the doors does bring down the overall quality.
There are two infotainment screens inside that control different features. The first is a conventional centre touchscreen used to operate everything from the heater to the sat-nav. The second screen replaces the traditional instruments behind the steering wheel, giving the car a more futuristic look.
There are five trim levels to choose from, including the Active Premium, Allure, Allure Premium, GT and GT Premium. The entry-level Active Premium model includes 16" Elborn alloy wheels, heated electric folding door mirrors, LED headlights and an electro chrome rear-view mirror. The mid-spec Allure model adds larger alloy wheels and an enchanted exterior style with black roof bars, black-painted door pillars and tinted windows. The Allure Premium model adds a high-definition 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and 3D sat-nav with live traffic updates.
The top of the range GT model includes a panoramic glass roof, suede-like Alcantara heated fabric seats, eight-colour customisable mood lighting and a wireless smartphone charging pad. The GT Premium version adds LED headlights with automatic full beam and adaptive cruise control to take the strain out of long trips.
Power and Performance
Under the bonnet, the Peugeot 2008 comes in petrol, diesel and all-electric form. The petrol engine line-up starts with a 99bhp 1.2-litre turbo, but the most popular is the 129bhp 1.2 PureTech 130, which offers impressively flexible performance.
Diesel options include the 1.5 BlueHDi 100 for more low-rev pulling power than petrol versions, making it a great choice if you do a lot of miles or plan to tow a small caravan.
The Peugeot 2008 has relatively soft suspension in terms of ride, meaning it's light and comfortable on the motorway and grips well around corners. It's also great driving around town thanks to its tight turning circle and quick steering.
