Customer Reviews of the Cupra Formentor

Great driving car and get good comments as a bit different to other cars. Lack of basic items such as auto boot, heated seats of a car of this price. Had a slight knocking sound from delivery on front passenger wheel side and twice into Cupra garage who say it’s a known fault and can’t be fixed. If it wasn’t a lease car would of returned car as not acceptable on a new car especially if I had paid for it myself rather than lease.

Car is excellent, handling, fuel economy, comfort, looks. Drive’s just like a 3series BMW. But hand problems with the infotainment screen just under a month after taking delivery. Touch screen just failed, & seeing almost everything is operated via the touchscreen, almost impossible to even increase/decrease heating, radio, sat nav, etc. it would sometimes work via voice activation, but not always & with winter coming was a bit concerned? Was referred to Cupra garage, who tried to reset it, twice, but eventually had to order a new screen. THAT WAS 9 months ago, still not a word from the Cupra garage!!! After a few months I gave the screen a good firm poke with my finger, & on it came!! It’s still not right but cupra don’t know it’s working, terrible service from them. I’ll still wait to see if they come back to me with a new screen unit. Shame really because the car is great otherwise.

Have heard a lot of bad things about the Formentor but in my experience it’s an brilliant alrounder, I have had no problems what so ever, I’ve had a lot of performance cars and this is up there with the rest of them in my opinion, no regrets what so ever😁

Lots of the functions don’t work well… speed settings randomly flick between mile and kilometres which makes using the active cruise control and overtaking/ motorway driving unsafe. This has been reported to Cupra but still not resolved. Satnav is not great and voice control awful… can’t even find Manchester airport!!

Quite often experience issues with the in-car computer system and screen that handles most of the in-car technology. Always slow and can typically take a second or two to respond to each press. Also often some aspects of the software won't load or don't work. For example, on odd occasions Navigation will be unavailable, and on other instances you press to change the fan speed or temperature but nothing happens. Normally the issues resolve themselves upon next entry/journey in the vehicle, but is quite frustrating at the regularity of problems or flaws.

The vehicle tech infotainment system is very temperamental, and also i find it difficult to use especially when driving. You can not switch off the lane keeping assist I'm sure its fantastic driving along the motorways and highways but on country roads and back roads its dangerous and I've narrowly escaped ditches, hedges and on coming traffic when it picks up something that resembles a white line on the road. its been a nice car apart from a few small issues (as above)
